Magnezit Group participates in regional forum on rational water use
Specialists of Magnezit Group took part in the II Ecological Water Forum of the South Urals. The main topics of the event were the issues of ecological monitoring as an element of rational water use and the most effective practices of water objects preservation. Representatives of nearly 40 cities from Russia and Kazakhstan discussed these and other important topics at the Chelyabinsk State University.
Evgeny Andreev, director of Chelyabinsk representative office of Magnezit Group, deputy chairman of regional Public Chamber and Anatoly Lushnikov, engineer of environmental protection department of Chelyabinsk region, took part in the plenary session and thematic platforms, where deputies of State Duma of Russian Federation and Regional Legislative Assembly spoke. During the Forum representatives of the Group discussed with the local suppliers a wide range of issues on regional cooperation in the field of implementation of modern technological solutions in the design, manufacture and implementation of waste water treatment plants and increasing productivity and efficiency of existing equipment for waste water treatment at the innovative Complexes of the Group.
Despite the fact that the refractory industry does not require significant volumes of water consumption, Magnezit Group treats water resources of the regions of its presence with care and takes measures to minimize their pollution within the framework of its own environmental policy. According to the program of careful treatment of water resources, new local treatment facilities are built to purify industrial waste, storm and drainage water, a system of recycling water supply is developed, and the quality of water discharge is constantly monitored. In particular, a large-scale project is being implemented to divert mine and pit water for subsequent filtration into the waste pits, Stepnoy and Berezovsky, which will reduce the negative impact on the water body.
